Sticks Up! Challenge 2026
The Sticks Up! Challenge—which runs from March 15th to April 12th, 2026— is a preseason skill-building and leadership initiative designed to get sticks back in hands across the Marblehead girls youth lacrosse program, 1st grade to 8th. It's a full-program commitment to building skill and habits, reinforcing fundamentals, and setting the tone for our program.
What is Sticks Up?
- An opportunity to take ownership of your game.
- Reinforces daily stick-work habits before official practices begin
- Strengthens fundamentals without adding structured practice time
- Builds pride in the full program, not just one team
- Helps players arrive at the season more confident and prepared
How it Works
- Each player will receive a grid of age-appropriate lacrosse challenges to work on at home... everything from wall ball to partner passing and a few surprises in between. The grids will be linked here for reference when available!
- Sticks Up! Challenge: Grades 1/2
- Sticks Up! Challenge: Grades 3/4
- Sticks Up! Challenge: Grades 5/6
- Sticks Up! Challenge: Grades 7/8
- Each square is a short, specific skill activity (wall ball, ground balls, passing, shooting, movement)
- Players check off and date the grid squares as they complete activities
- There is a free space on every card: 🎉 Attend Season Kickoff (March 15)
- At the end, parents report their child's progress via a Google form (results will be visible to coaches only)
- Prizes for the number of challenges completed!
NOTE: Reference guides will be linked here when available to help parents and guardians help their players understand what each challenge looks like and how it helps them develop as a lacrosse athlete.
